Email setup on Android

Follow the directions below to setup your email account on your Android device. Failing to follow these directions can have your public IP address blocked from the server, at which point you will need to contact us to unblock your IP address.

  1. Open the Settings App of your Android device then tap on the Accounts menu in Personal section.
  2. At the bottom of your existing accounts, tap Add Account.
  3. On the next screen tap Personal (IMAP)
  4. Enter your complete email address, tap next.
  5. Enter your password, tap next.
  6. On the following screen, enter the following information under the Incoming Server Settings:
    • Username: your full email address.
    • Password: the password created for you by your provider.
    • Server: mail.[yourdomain.com]
    • Port: 993
    • Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
  7. Tap Next, then complete the Outgoing Server Settings as follows:
    • SMTP Server: mail.[yourdomain.com]
    • Port: 465, if 465 doesn't work we may need to change this to 587 or 25.
    • Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
    • Username: your full email address.
    • Password: the password created for you by your provider.
  8. Tap Next, then select the preferences for how often you'd like to the app to sync, and if you'd like to be notified when mail arrives, etc.
  9. On this final screen, you can optionally give the account a name (This is how it will display in the email app if you have more than one account configured.) and input your name as you would like it displayed on outgoing messages.
  10. Tap Next. That's it! Your mail should now be configured.
